Adaptation 2.0

Updated: Aug 18, 2024

* SPOKEN WORD *

Sit back, relax, and enjoy me reading to you!

I continue to enjoy a lovely cup of tea regularly containing my favorite adaptogen, Ashwagandha! This experience is nourishing to my soul; the warm mug curing my cold hands; the aroma of the roots and leaves infusing into my alkaline water is delightful to my nose; the pleasant flavor kissing my tongue; and the aftermath of relaxing sensations will ensure this herbal tea remains in my routine for the foreseeable future!

Visiting Raisin Rack in Westerville, Ohio and mingling with the extremely supportive and knowledgeable staff, I was challenged to consider increasing my dose of Ashwagandha daily! This proposed wellness idea would ensure additional therapeutic benefits for my temple!

Before I recommend supplementation, I first test the product(s) on myself! I feel this is the only ethical way to broach the topic.

Although the supplement I've tested now for one calendar year and am recommending here is not available at Raisin Rack, I appreciate their team for the general enlightenment.

Last March, 2022, I decided it appropriate to take my therapy to the next level and perhaps you would like to join me in the now! I choose to purchase from one of my Ayurvedic Medicine Teachers, Dr. John Douillard, DC, CAP. More specifically, his LifeSpa apothecary based in Colorado! He strongly believes in whole herb supplementation rather than extracts.

Full disclosure: I don't receive financial support from Amazon or from the supplement company for sharing product links. I'm simply showing you what product I love and choose to take.

To ensure a well rounded experience, I tested supplemental Ashwagandha in the extract form in addition to the whole herb variety. In conclusion, I do feel Dr. John Douillard's product at LifeSpa is most superior.

The supplement is a proprietary blend of Organic Ashwagandha Root and Organic Ginger Root. It's sold in a bottle containing 90 vegan capsules and the recommended dosing is up to 1 capsule, 3 times per day, after meals.

When getting started with LifeSpa's Whole Herb Ashwagandha, I would recommend the following dosing schedule:

  • Month 1: take 1 capsule after breakfast daily and see how you like the supplement.

  • Month 2: if you define supplementation during Month 1 to be a blessing...take 1 capsule after breakfast and dinner daily and evaluate the level of enjoyment you feel from the increase in supplementation.

  • Month 3: If you found Month 2 to be supportive...take 1 capsule after breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily and be very mindful to how you're enjoying the increased therapy to your routine.

  • Month 4: if enjoyment was experienced during Month 3...continue with 3 capsules daily, consuming 1 capsule after each meal, as instructed by LifeSpa.

There are countless reasons to consider supplementing with Ashwagandha. For me, It's an invaluable tool to relax my nervous system. The cares of the world seem so very far away when Ashwagandha is running through my system. I keep one supplement bottle at home and another within my lunch box. This ensures I'm never without and that I never run out of supplementation. Sometimes the product is on backorder and sometimes the mail delivery system is slower than desired. Having two bottles on hand, at all times, ensures I'm always the most relaxed version of myself!

The benefits of supplemental Ashwagandha appear endless:

  • promising for erectile disfunction, low libido, and performance anxiety as it provides sexual virility as an aphrodisiac

  • improves sexual arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and overall satisfaction

  • promotes male and female fertility

  • due to the supplements impact on the appetite hormone, leptin, normal weight loss has been seen

  • protects the reproductive system; protects the stomach from excess acid production; and protects the immune system

  • fights burnout and fatigue by supporting the adrenal system

  • decreases stress levels

  • ensures a stable mood

  • increases longevity by preventing the effects of aging

  • enhances stamina and energy levels

  • boosts recovery time from vigorous exercise

  • supports healthy brain function; increasing brain cell production; protecting the brain; improves brain communication and cognitive performance

  • acts as an antioxidant

  • improves memory for individuals of all ages

  • as an anti-inflammatory it supports healthy joint function

  • encourages deep sleep, and may help with insomnia

  • balances the thyroid and blood sugar levels

My intuition leads me to believe that the above list is simply a minute fraction of obtainable benefits from Ashwagandha, also known as Winter Cherry, Indian Ginseng, and my personal favorite...strength of ten horses!
